![]() ![]() We did have ideas if a certain dungeon needs bombs, for example, we might put a little bomb icon on the dungeon walls or somewhere on the ground. But when we do that, you are pigeonholed into having a specific order of dungeons. “We did at one point test what it would be like to be able to obtain some of these abilities in some point in the story. The Hookshot is an item consisting of a handle that allows Link to fire a spring-loaded chain with a hook or spearhead on the end. They even tried the Link Between Worlds approach, although that was a little limiting. What’s left currently, the four items, were really what would draw out the fun of the game.”ĭuring their original experiments, they played around with allowing Breath of the Wild players to obtain objects within dungeons, as you could in previous Zelda games. After a lot of experimentation and testing, we weeded out all the ones that had potential to detract from the gameplay and enjoying the game. Hookshot is a small mod that adds a grappling hook-like tool for the player to use to get around. “Hookshot was we experimented with and tested, as well as Beetle from Skyward Sword. Would you like to have seen these items return? Tell us below. The device is somewhat larger than the Hookshot, as well. It is an improved version of the Hookshot, its chain being twice as long (20m). Link, Young Link, and Toon Link can use this move as a tether recovery to grab the edge of the stage and pull themselfs back up to it. It extends twice as far ' In-game description The Longshot is an item from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U, it was replaced by the Clawshot. In an interview with Kotaku, Fujibayashi talked about how they originally tested the game with both the Hookshot and even Skyward Sword’s Beetle item. The Hookshot is Link's grab in Super Smash Bros. However, an interview with the game’s director has revealed this wasn’t always the case. This doesn’t just mean the game’s structure is different, but even its items. This includes, but is not limited to blocks, targets, wooden beams, chests, and enemies. They are a hook that stretches out on a chain allowing Link to attach to various items and pull himself towards them. Like in 20 years the nostalgia for BoTW is kind of interesting to me.Breath of the Wild breaks away from the Zelda formula more than any game before it. Hookshots are recurring items in The Legend of Zelda series. I love that someone probably younger than me first experienced the master sword in BoTW, or beating up some chickens in Links Awakening HD for example. OoT Randomizer Version 7.1 has been released Welcome to the Ocarina of Time Item Randomizer Play Now About OoTR Current Stable: v7.1 Current Dev: v7.1.70 Downloadable Versions Changelog for v7. I had the Gameboy games and then as I say WW so I experienced pot smashing, violent chickens, the master sword and triforce for the first time through these games, and yet most people my age experienced all of that with Ocarina. I do find it interesting though that the tropes of the games exist differently for different people. Like I'm not a huge fan of the game because I had a PlayStation as a kid and didn't play it till WW came out on GC (same situation as OP it sounds), and so don't have the nostalgia, but I do appreciate how it forged the path for the games that came after if that makes sense. I see OOT as like the Led Zeppelin or the Metallica of videogames - I'm not a massive fan of those bands, I like a handful of songs or less from each, but ultimately love that they inspired bands like Slipknot or Korn that I grew up with. Honestly I understand why Twilight Princess felt like a step backwards for somes, but this one is still my favourite Zelda, if you have not you could look into this one. Fighting is awesome and feel better than OOT/MM, and TP improved it afterward, and we are having fun with my brother seeing the funny animations, like the bokoblins hanging to bridges or the Moblins punching another Moblins. I am currently replaying WW on wiiu and honestly I think we don't talk enough how It was a step forward in the serie, I don't put the game in ma favourites because I am not the hugest fan on the great sea, I take my time to explore, like destroying each towers, but just finding a feather or 10 rupees is getting old at some point, and since I don't have all the items I am often stuck ( I still found some Triforce charts), so I will continue the story. As it was already said this is mostly due to nostalgia, this is the case for me, this is my first Zelda game and I still like it but if I am honest every game after bring something that make them superior in a way or another, I still like to play OOT because its more simple but the game is pretty generic.
